NAM Gesso Primer 500ml

National Art Materials Gesso Primer is an excellent non-toxic primer for sealant of canvas, cardboard, paper, wood, plaster and concrete. With various sizes to choose from it's a great multi-purpose medium. Use a paint roller for large flat brush to apply evenly to surfaces and leave as is or sand down for a smooth surface. 

Avoid letting gesso dry on brushes, immediately after use wash brushes with soap and water. If National Art Materials Gesso Primer has dried on brushes soak in denatured alcohol or use a brush cleaner for removal . 

When using on canvas National Art Materials Gesso Primer can be applied to raw stretched canvas, the canvas can be made taut by dampening with water. Pre-sizing is not required with gesso. 

For wood and cardboard surfaces should be cleaned, dry and sanded before gesso is applied. Plaster and concrete should be clean and dry before gesso is applied. 

Always stir National Art Materials Gesso Primer thoroughly before use. Gesso can be thinned with 10%-20% water and light sanding between coats. Keep brushes well filled with gesso and work rapidly over the selected surface. Additional coats can be applied as soon as the first coat is dry, for best results apply 2-3 coats thinning initial coats with water.
