WA DISASTER RELATED SHIPPING UPDATES 

Thank you for your understanding regarding additional charges and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. 

Team Global Temporary Disaster Levy 15% EX GST 

Effective from Tue 21 March 24 Team Global will apply a temporary disaster levy of 15% (EX GST) to orders travelling into and out of Western Australia. 

The surcharge is not automatically applied online, Deans Art staff will be in touch with your final order total. Including any oversized or additional charges. 

Email or call our Preston Head Office to enquire about shipping options and final totals before placing your order. 

Team Global will continue to work with their transport partners and will update Deans Art with a removal date for the levy as soon as possible. 

Australia Post Delivery Delays 

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has advised the track between South Australia and WA will not reopen until after Christmas, following ongoing flooding and damage to rail infrastructure in the area. 

There is an estimate delay of 1-2 business days for deliveries to and from WA. Some customers may experience longer delays of up to 3 weeks for articles on trains delayed on the rail line in transit to WA. 

Express Post and Startrack Premium Services are not affected by these disruptions. 

ORDER DISPATCH & DELIVERY TIMEFRAMES 

Deans Art's small but dedicated team take great care in selecting your art materials and we are happy to offer multiple deliver options for our customers across Australia, New Zealand and Norfolk Island. 

DISPATCH

Deans Art makes every effort to have the products listed online close by - with the stock showing products located across our Melbourne stores, warehouse and occasionally with our suppliers. 

Dispatch is the time it takes to pick and pack your art materials and is in addition to delivery timeframes. Most orders are dispatched within 1-3 business days.

There is a small percentage of online orders that can take up to 5 or more business days to pack due to unexpected stock supply issues. Deans Art staff will be in contact should there be an issue with supplying any of the materials. 

During certain times fo the year order dispatch might take slightly longer than 1-3 days, mainly following public holiday closures, over the Christmas holiday period or during peak back to school periods. 

MELBOURNE CLICK & COLLECT

Deans Art offers FREE click and collect for orders over $20* from our Preston store, located at 17-19 High St PRESTON VIC 3072. 

Our team will pick your items and EMAIL when your order is ready to collect. Please view current dispatch timeframes for order processing timeframes. 

Should you not collect within 1-2 weeks Deans Art staff will follow up with a call or email to let you know it's still here. 

CHANGE OF MIND - Please view our Returns Policy before placing an online order. if you change your mind and the items are no longer required a credit can be applied to your Deans Art account for use in-store or online. 

*A $3 fee applies to click & collect orders under $20. 

Brunswick store collection: Should you wish to collect items from our Brunswick store you can add a note at checkout. We will send this to our Brunswick store but it will take additional time, please allow 2-3 extra business for Brunswick orders. Should you require items urgently you're welcome to call the Brunswick store direcly to place a phone order. 

AUSTRALIA POST 

Deans Art is happy to offer Parcel Post and Express Post options for customers within Australia, New Zealand and Norfolk Island. Customers will receive an email with tracking details following order dispatch. 

Parcel Post 

Following dispatch Australia Post Parcel Post orders can take a few days to reach their destination.

General Timeframes for Parcel Post are: 

  • Delivery to Melbourne Addresses: 2-4 Business Days 
  • Delivery to Interstate Addresses: 3-6 Business Days

Customers with their email or mobile address connected to a My Post account will be notified within the Australia Post App. A physical card will only be left at your address if you do not have details connected to a My Post account. 

If customers are not home at the time of delivery and their is no safe spot to leave your parcel (even if safe drop is selected) it will be sent to your closest Post Office. 

Parcel Post pricing listed online is a guide only and subject to change. Should there be additional charges our warehouse team will be in touch. 

Express Post 

Following dispatch Australia Post Express Post is a fast service. 

General Timeframes for Express Post are: 

  • Delivery to Melbourne Addresses: 1-2 Business Days
  • Delivery to Interstate Addresses: 1-3 Business Days

TEAM GLOBAL 

Team Global (formerly TOLL Group) offers delivery across Australia and is the prefered option for large, bulky or oversized deliveries. Once your order is placed online our team will work on picking and packing your items.

Prices for Team Global shipping online are a quote and need to be finalised by our Warehouse team. This is due to the system not applying additional handing charges which we are unable to absorb at this time. Our team will be in touch with an updated invoice as soon as possible. 

Once dispatched tracking details will be emailed through to notify you when it's on the way and ready for delivery. 

all Team Global deliveries are marked AUTHORITY TO LEAVE. Should the customer not be home to receive the delivery or have a secure location for the goods to be left they will be taken to the nearest TEAM GLOBAL depot. It is then the customers responsibility to collect their order from this location. 

If you are unable to collect your order or the goods are returned to Deans Art we can organise re-delivery at an additional cost. Please call our Preston Office to discuss pricing. 

Team Global delivery can take 2-7 days. Delivery to regional or remote areas may take additional time and delivery be undertaken by Team Global partners.

Melbourne Same Day Delivery 

Customers located within Melbourne CBD and surrounds can enjoy same day courier services from Monday to Friday. With prices starting from $30 it's never been easier to order art supplies! 

Orders must be placed by phone before 11am for same day service. Call our Preston Office or Store to place a phone order. 

Please note delivery can take 3-6 hours depending on service booked, someone must be at the location to receive the delivery, or a secure/safe spot provided for the parcel to be delivered to.*

If you have a delivery date in mind email your contact details, delivery address and order requirements to our Preston Office. We can provide a quote and then book in your delivery for the required date once payment is made. 

*If the parcel is unable to be left at the delivery address then expensive overnight storage and re-delivery fees apply and charged to the customer. 

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY 

Deans Art has served Australian customers for 170 years and we're excited to expand our delivery options to New Zealand and Norfolk Island. 

International delivery is processed via Australia Post. Please enter your post code at checkout to view delivery options. International delivery timeframes (after dispatch) can be found on the Australia Post website. 

Deans Art is unable to ship age restricted items, dangerous goods and large or bulky items to international locations. 

Payment of import taxes and all other associated costs are the responsibility of the customer. 

Deans Art does not deliver to any other international locations at this time. 

AGE RESTRICTED PRODUCTS

Certain products sold within Australia are subject to age restrictions including knives, blades, spray paints and aerosols. 

Age restricted items sold online are only available for instore collection. You must be 18years of older to purchase these items. 

When collecting your order or shopping  instore you must have a valid photo ID, that shows your full name and date of birth. For online order collection your details must match the ID presented. 

Deans Art reserves the right to cancel and refund your online order if the correct ID is not presented to staff. 

Education Account Holders - Please view our online guide or reach out to your School Sales Representative for online purchasing of age restricted art materials. 

SHIPPING DANGEROUS GOODS 

Items marked as Dangerous Goods (Including solvents, flammable or corrosive materials) will only show parcel post or Team Global delivery options at checkout. 

Conditions apply for bulk orders of Dangerous Goods. You must speak with our Preston Office BEFORE placing an online order containg a large amount of Dangerous Goods. Deans Art reserves the right to cancel and refund online orders that contain high levels of dangerous goods. 

HEAVY OR OVERSIZED PRODUCTS

Additional charges apply for large, heavy or oversized products and orders. These are manually calculated by our team who will be in touch if your order is affected. Oversized products including anything over 1.2m or weighing over 20kg. 

Bulky products or large orders may also cause difficulty at checkout or show high or no cost. If you have problems checking out please contact our Preston Office for assistance. 

ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES 

Whilst every effort is made to have accurate shipping weights and measurements online Deans Art would like ot advise customers that there could be additional charges for their online orders. 

If you order is subject to additional charges due to weight, heigh, delivery area or distance or levy's imposted by the delivery company our team will be in contact as soon as possible. 

Payment of additional shipping charges must be made before the order will be despatched. 

HOLIDAY TIMEFRAMES 

Deans Art packs orders Monday to Friday from our Preston location in Melbourne, Victoria. Our stores, office & warehouse close during public holidays. Orders placed over public holiday closures will be packaged when we reopen on the following business day.

BACKORDERS

Deans Art makes every effort to supply items ordered online in a timely manner, however sometimes a product listed online may be out of stock in-store or with our supplies. 

If the majority of your order be in-stock our warehouse team will dispatch these items as soon as possible. Items that are out of stock with Deans Art will then be placed on backorder. 

Backorders will remain open for 4 weeks. During this time our purchasing team will place the item on order with our suppliers. Once the goods are delivered to Deans Art we will send the items to the customer. 

Should Deans Art be advised of an out of stock, delivery date of over 6 weeks or that the item has been discontinued your backorder will be cancelled and a refund for the cost of the goods processed. Refunds will be processed back onto the original method of payment as per our refund policy. 

Additional postage costs will apply for backorders sent to interstate or international locations and large, heavy or bulky products. Our sales team will provide a shipping quote for your consideration when we notify you of any out of stock items. 

If Click & Collect was selected on the original order it is the responsibility of the customer to collect these items from our Preston store or pay for additional shipping costs unless advised otherwise in writing.

Backorders placed using shipping methods to Victorian addresses will be sent using the most economical postage method. 

PRE-ORDER & SPECIAL ORDERS

From time to time Deans Art may offer Pre-Order items for sale instore or online. 

Whilst we make every effort to provide the correct arrival dates for these items online there may be delivery delays outside of our control. Your order will be sent as soon as stock arrives at our warehouse. 

Should your online order contain regular items as well as pre-order or special order products the whole order will be held until all items are instock. Should you wish to separate the goods additional postage costs will apply. 

Unable to find a product online?  Reach out to our purchasing team who will be happy to assist with your enquiry. Make sure to include as much information as you can including brand, product codes or descriptions and we'll enquire with our current suppliers. 

Please note special order items can take 2-8 weeks to arrive. Order minimums may apply. Depending on the product a deposit or payment of the full order will be required before goods are placed on order with our suppliers. 

DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS

Our warehouse team makes every effort to pack your orders with care and consideration of its journey to reach you. In the unlikely event you have received a damaged or incorrect product please contact Deans Art immediately. 

If the item is damaged please send an email to sales@deansart.com.au and include your order number, what products are affected and clear photos of the damage to the item, it's packaging and the box it was shipped in. ,

If photos of the product are not supplied we can not assist with your enquiry. 

Claims for damage or short supply must be made within 7 days of receiving the goods. 

Please note most products listed online are stored within our retail locations.
