Solid Solutions Solutions River Resin Deep Cast Epoxy Kits are a beginner option for artist wanting to explore deep pour epoxy resin and works well for small projects. The kit includes 500ml of resin and 250ml of hardner which should be measuered by weight on a scale for accurate mixing ratios of 2:1. This Deep Cast Epoxy can be used for pours from 1mm to 50mm and once cured has a water clear finish with a high UV resistance. 

Mix Ratio: measure out 2 parts A to 1 part B by weight using a scale. DO NOT MIX BY VOLUME.

Pour between 15 mm and 50 mm per pour. This keeps the exotherm reaction at a safe temperature.

Directions 

• 1 Prepare: Warm the resin and hardener before use for maximum clarity. Pre-seal natural wood edges with Solid Cast 606 Clear Casting Epoxy Resin to stop air bubbles rising from the timber.
• 2 Measure 2:1: Measure 2 parts Part A to 1 part Part B by volume into a straight-sided container, or an open pail for batches of up to 16 litres.
• 3 Mix: Blend with a paint mixer on a drill at slow speed for several minutes until the mix is evenly clear.
• 4 Pour: Pour from a few centimetres above the cavity and let the resin flow along it. After 5 minutes, top up if needed.
• 5 Cure: Cure at a constant 25 °C (minimum 20 °C). It is touch dry in around two days, when a second pour can go on top, and needs a further two days before sanding.
• 6 Sand and finish: Cut back with a belt sander at 80 grit, then an orbital sander from 80 through to 320 grit. For more clarity, wet sand at 500, 800 and 1500, then finish with wood oil or polish.
