Solid Solutions Solid Cast 606 Resin Jewellery Kit 1kg
Solid Solutions Solid Cast 606 resin Jewellery Kit includes two parts which when mixed together can be used to form objects like paperweights or for embedding objects or as a covering for pin badges. This resin is easy to use just ix 3 parts A to one part B by weight using a scale. Mix and then you have a resin that's ready to use. It can take up to 1 day for the resin to cure and then up to 5 days for it to reach peak hardness. The resin can be poured onto wood, artwork and metal badges to create a strong covering equal to 50 coats of varnish. It's also a great resin for embedding objects like coins, medals, shells and more. Or use it to cast objects like resin letters or paperweights for a fun activity. - Mix thoroughly in a straight sided, flat bottomed container. Using a flat ruler shaped mixing stick, mix well, scraping around the sides and base of the container. Mix until the material is crystal clear, free of any streaks.
- A thin layer of resin will cure between 20 and 30°C in 24 hours. Do not let the temperature drop below 20°C
- Small castings and thin layers of room temperature cured resin can prove brittle in some applications. Maximum impact strength is gained after 5 days. A maximum block casting of around 250ml can be achieved in a silicone rubber mould.
- Note resins and hardeners have a tendency to go thick and cloudy in cold weather. Check materials are clear and free flowing before using. Material can be reconstituted by standing the closed bottles in warm water until the liquids are clear and free-flowing. Dry the bottles before you open them and proceed with mixing.
- Always keep caps on bottles when not in use. Store at room temperature (18 °C) away from direct sunlight. Do not store on concrete floors.
